Natural Cleaning Sprays for Kitchen Counters
Switching to natural cleaning products can benefit both your health and the environment.
Grab ingredient you already have at home such as:
- Rubbling Alcohol or Hydrogen Peroxide or Vodka- Effective disinfectant and deodorizer.
- Vinegar: Effective for disinfecting and deodorizing.
- Essential Oils: Add pleasant scents and antibacterial properties.
- Castile Soap: A versatile cleaner for various surfaces. I use Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Castile Soap, but that’s because I love the smell.
Why use harsh chemicals to clean & disinfect our countertops? A simple solution, use everyday natural products that can likely be found in your pantry. Plus many natural alternatives are just as effective as harsh ones and cost a fraction of the price. Specifically, natural cleaners are especially gentler on little bodies and pets, as well as all of us.
In a fraction of time you can easily make a variety of homemade cleaners from these all-purpose sprays to pastes that scrub and scour your shower, or clean your hardwood floors all with pantry items like vinegar, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and essential oils. Check out some of my other links in my Natural Cleaning section, such as Cleaning the Kitchen sink.
Your health is important to me. Why not make something easy and quick that is beneficial to you, your kids & family, plus safe for your pets. I have these clear glass spray bottles, but feel free to reuse a spray bottle you already have.

Countertop Natural Cleaners Spray
(2 options)
Option 1– for multipurpose surfaces
All-Purpose Spray

(not for stone such as granite, quartz, marble, etc.)
- 1 ¼ cups of water
- ½ cup of vinegar
- 10 drops of essential oil (I like grapefruit or orange or peppermint)
I often take the rind of a grapefruit and soak it in vinegar to make my own natural essential oiled vinegar, which I use in this mixture (see below pictures). Mix ingredients together in a spray bottle. Shake to mix each time you use. Spray on surface, then wipe with a clean cloth. Voila, sparkling counters.

OR
Option 2– for stone countertops – All-Purpose Cleaner without Vinegar
Stone Spray

(for surfaces where vinegar is too harsh/acidic)
- 1 ½ cups of water
- 2 Tbsp of Rubbing Alcohol or Hydrogen Peroxide or Vodka (don’t mix… it’s one or the other).
- ¼ tsp Castile soap or dish soap
- 5 drops of essential oil (I like grapefruit or orange or peppermint)
Mix ingredients together in a spray bottle. Shake to mix each time you use. Spray on surface, then wipe with a clean cloth. Voila, sparkling counters.
